In October 2012, I started tracking using My Fitness Pal. It is a free program that will take into account your activity level when helping you create the program for yourself. Also, it has a great app for the iPhone, complete with a scanner for foods you buy at the store and a very large database of restaurant foods with nutritional information already saved. It also has a very extensive list of exercises for calculating calories burned.
